The Avengers, earth's mightiest heroes! The first came along back in 1963 with the original team consisting of Hulk, Ant Man, Wasp and Iron Man! Soon Captain America joined along with Hawkeye and Black Widow. But it hasn't stopped there! Nearly every single powered up hero has joined The Avengers! You name it, anyone from Sue Storm to Venom! That's the great thing about Marvel, their universe interlink just like the recent Marvel movies have done so that The Avengers movies was possible. But there is the problem, not all of the universes interlink so well. There is the X-Men universe.
Lets face it, Wolverine IS the X-Men or really the X-Man that carries the comic. Everyone knows and likes him and he is one of the most popular comic characters ever made. It's no surprise that fans want to see him in the next Avengers movie.... but it's not going to work. Why? Because he is a mutant.
In the X-Men movies, mutants are feared and hated by most of man kind because they are different. They have abilities, powers and whatnot. So if the X-Men and The Avengers universes are the same, ask yourself this:
Does that mean that Tony Stark is a mutant?
It's not just Iron Man, it's Hawkeye, Black Widow, Captain America... even The Hulk! What is stopping someone saying Tony Stark is a mutant, his power is being brainy enough to built a suit of amour. Black Widow is a mutant, her ability is high reflexes. Hawkeye a mutant, his ability is to never miss a shot. Captain America is a mutant, his power is to be awesome because... will I don't know, whatever Capt does I guess! And finally The Hulk is a mutant, his abillty is to turn into the green giant and HULK SMASH things.
You see what I'm getting at here? It won't work people, move along! Oh and by the way, I wouldn't expect Wolverine being friends with the gang for a long time!
WARNING! THIS BLOG CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR DMC: DEVIL MAY CRY!
Oh Dante! You sure know how to warm a gamer girls heart! I, TheGirlThatGetsPissedOff, am completely in love with Devil May Cry for one main reason. Dante! Ever since I first played DMC, I fell in love with the white haired, red leather wearing Son of Sparda. I mean come on, just look at him!
So for a while now, people (and me!) have been banging on about how there has to be a DMC5 and in 2010 Capcom announced the return along with this:
Yeah, that's what me and others thought! Many fans were outraged but surprisingly I wasn't. I kept my cool. Besides this game is about Dante before DMC 3, before his demonic powers awakened within him. So finally January 2013 came along and I bought the game. Rushing home, I turned on my Xbox and... I TURNED IT OFF AFTER ONE MISSION!!!! Where was Dante? WHAT THIS IS DANTE! I haven't been this disappointed since I played DMC 4 and learned that I had to play 15 GODDAMN LEVELS before I get to play as Dante!
So after weeks of trying to convince myself, I rebooted the game and completed it! To be fair, the game isn't bad, storyline is believable and the moves are good. Also there are some new weapons which kick demon ass!

NO! I didn't say that, I said it wasn't bad. BUT..... NINJA THEORY HAS FUCKED IT UP!
How? One word: Eva. Eva was the human wife of Sparda and the mother of Dante and Vergil. She was killed when the brothers where young and is the cause of Dante and Vergil being 'half-breeds'. Half devil, Half human. Fans will remember her picture on Dante's in the first DMC, we all know what Eva looks like. But wait, who is this woman calling me?
This, ladies and gentlemen, is Eva in DMC 5! Oh and she isn't a human... SHE'S A FUCKING ANGEL! This causes problems, a lot of them but first her appearance. Back in Devil May Cry 1, the picture on the left is on Dante's desk when he is attacked by Trish. When the fighting is over, Trish tells Dante that Mundus is planning to open the gates of hell at Mullet Island. Why does Dante follow here? Simple... BECAUSE SHE LOOKS LIKE EVA!
Mundus sole reason for creating Trish was so that she could lure Dante into a trap! What better way to mind fuck Dante than creating a beautiful woman that looks a little like his mother! Now there is no way that Trish looks nothing like 'new Eva' so does that mean Trish won't exist in the future game? I really don't know but I SWEAR TO GOD if Ninja theory 'delete' Trish, I WILL HULK OUT!!!!
Another reason why this 'new Eva' has messed everything up, SHE'S AN ANGEL! The difference between the demons and humans in the DMC universe is that demons can turn their 'conscience' off so to say. Humans don't have that ability, we fell emotions if we like it or not. This is what makes Dante lovable! He has the strength and the power of a devil but has the conscience and the ability to love of a human. Now this is where it is messed up! The 'new Eva' is an angel so that means Dante and Vergil are half devil, half angel. They are Nephilim. (Completely different to fallen angels by the way!)
So here is the problem: Are Dante and Vergil too strong? As the sons of two different race, wouldn't they be stronger than the two? Yes they would be! So when Dante comes to defeat Mundus, he would totally kick the devil's ass! It wouldn't even be a proper fight, more like a one shot kill! Dante has to be half human otherwise he wouldn't care about the human race at all!
Although the 'new eva' has made a few problems for the other games, there is another. Sparda himself. It has been claimed many times that Sparda was either killed before or after the twins wore born but one thing is for sure, Sparda never met his sons! This explains why Dante doesn't feel much love towards his father than he does for his mother. But in DMC 5, SPARDA WAS THERE AND HID HIS SONS AFTER EVA GOT HER HEART RIPPED OUT BY MUNDUS!!!!
Oh and he wiped their memories....
This just doesn't make scene at all, if anything it upsets the balance of the other DMC games! On the plus side we get to see how Dante and Vergil fell out but then it doesn't matter... you know why?
BECAUSE IT'S A FUCKING ALTERNATIVE REALITY!!!!
Here, read it on the Wikipedia if you don't believe me! Ok, ok so the whole alternative reality thing fixes the hole 'new Eva' problem but then again.... WHY IS IT A GAME? If I want to play DMC, I want to play in the DMC universe! Not some different place! If it's not DMC then why call it that! Call it 'emo Dante goes demon hunting' or something stupid like that! GODDAMMIT!!!
